L’oreal Powder Room at the LMFF

I went to the L’oreal Powder Room on the opening night of the L’oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. The Powder Room visits various fashion and beauty-based events around the year, providing free touch-ups and hair, skin and cosmetics advice. I’ve also seen them at the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival at Flemington, as well as festivities in relation to Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. The services have differed over the years, but they tend to be lips, nails and hair. Unfortunately, I’ve never seen eye make-up in the years I’ve visited, which is what I’d really like to try. Anyhow, the biggest draw card is the free goodie bag provided after your consultation!

Here’s what I got this year! This year, there was a choice of colours in the make-up bag; lurid bright-green and orange or pink and yellow. As you can see, I chose the pink and yellow combo. The green and orange is seriously like the orange Ninja Turtle!

Yes, all this for free!
Tips
  • The lines should be shorter when a show is on, as most participants will be inside watching the models on the runway. Lines can get quite long in peak periods, which is not particularly fun in the blustery location of Docklands.
  • If you’re there only for the goodie bag, choose to have lips done. This is the fastest way to get in and out. Even faster if you know what colour you want.
The L’oreal Powder Room for the LMFF is located at Central Pier, Docklands in Melbourne and is open late until the last night of the LMFF, Thursday 19th March 2012. Let me know if you drop by 🙂
